Matrix’s Menorrhagia Services

Matrix has operated a pilot community menorrhagia service in association with Easington South Health, which provided a consultant-led facility for women aged over 18 registered with GP practices in the Easington Clinical Commissioning Group experiencing abnormal menstrual
bleeding where GP Practice first line treatment was ineffective. This clinic reduces the number of avoidable referrals to hospital-based gynaecology services by improving access to LNG-IUS in the community.

The patient survey, compiled by the PCT (now North East Commissioning Support – NECS) related very positive feedback; patients, GPs and practice staff were delighted with a one-stop clinic for diagnosis, discussion and treatment, combined with the convenience of clinic location
and speed of getting an appointment, ease of car parking, and the professional attention they received from both Consultant and Assistant.

Hugo Minney PhD, Company Secretary, Easington South Health Ltd “Easington South Health was delighted with Matrix – their staffing and organisation made the clinics run smoothly which is really important for a specialism which isn’t our core business”
